Honda CT110.
Had a call today from a guy selling a CT110. He's looking for around £500 quid for it but it needs restored and has a gear shifting problem.
Says it shifts up easily enough but its difficult to down shift.
I'm hoping it's an easy enough fix and have asked for some more photos.
Anybody on here have any experience with the CT series or comments about what to check on them?

Will post some photos when I get home as my phone screen is too small.

OK finally got some photos:
This is how the bike has been described:

Any thoughts? I've never tinkered with this sort of problem before. This bike is complete and can run with a little cleaning. It was running great when it was stored a couple of years ago. It shifts, but the transmission is rough when downshifting. Shifting up is no problem. Personally I'm pretty sure it's the automatic clutch, and/or the shifter return spring, both are easy to repair.

Re: Honda CT110.
Be advised that you might not get parts for it through Honda UK. I had difficulties with my local Honda dealer with the Little Cub (Jap import). Any part that isn't on a UK bike will not be supplied by them.
CMSNL is one option for parts.
It shouldn't be hard to fix in my opinion.

I'm actually over in Florida at the moment (until January) so the UK parts side of things won't really matter overall as it'll just be used over here.George wrote:Be advised that you might not get parts for it through Honda UK. The main concern is how much of a hassle is it going to be sorting out the dodgy gear selection.
Looks like you can get a fair amount of parts on eBay.
The guy is asking US$750 for it but I don't think I'd pay that much for it....

They won't. If your local dealer supplied you with parts for exotic bikes, it must be a difference since mine didn't.zippy wrote:actually as long as you have a part number, honda dealer will supply them.
I have P/Ns that were denied as being unavailable in the UK. Had a P/N that was from a UK bike and it was brought from who knows where since I've waited 6 months for it. Maybe that frame was built for me specially.
Many parts for Aurelia's Little Cub weren't available when I asked for a quote.
I call for a trial and choose a part that's on a non UK bike and see with our dealers if they can supply it. If yours is, I might keep you busy.

Re: Honda CT110.
I have ordered parts for my jap imports, and they come from whichever warehouse has them in stock, which can be japan.
Not saying Honda still have the parts left, but yes, you can.
