Re: Med2Med - For Alzheimer's and Stroke Ass
Update - 21st May 2021 - 91 days until departure
So after much soul searching and a couple of chats with some likeminded C90 owners we ordered 2 Lifan 110 semi auto engines. Looked at the cost of trusted, good quality parts to repair Blue plus what else we planned / may have to do to prepare the engines for the event and, when you factor in the ongoing time required with the maintenance we decided to go down this route.
We were recommended to talk to Adrian at OORacing who gave us lots of great advice and help and prepared the engines for us, we also brought their CDI unit to get the most out of these engines. They arrived with Adrian having already flushed the "transit oil" out of them, put some 10/40 in and wired them to fit our bikes as required.
Installed mine into Blue in an hour and she started 2nd kick an ticked over perfectly. Got to fit Kitty's today / tomorrow and hopefully we'll be running them in over the weekend.

Did you rejet the carb ? the standard airbox is much better that the small clamp on ones , and the inline fuel filters are a waste of time and cause more trouble than they are worth , check the filter under the fuel tap.

Yes, personally I'd use the standard Cub Airbox. Quieter with better fueling.

Re: Med2Med - For Alzheimer's and Stroke Ass
Thanks guys, I have been thinking about that as Adrian did mention the standard carbs will be fine "on standard setup" but to check the plugs a few times to check the mixture etc.
It's rebuilt now with the exception of the leg guards so think I'll put the std box back on, added bonus it'll be quieter
Cheers!

The charm of a stepthro' is lost if it has a noisy exhaust.

All going into overdrive now, Maidstone Honda are officially supporting Med2Med and currently have the bikes to check them over, to fit brake pads, drive cushions, wheel bearings, new sprockets and heavy duty chains plus a general service.
They've also supplied some great prizes for 3 draws we'll be making before we leave;

Up and till last Friday we were working on plan B but thankfully the government have lifted the requirement for self isolation for amber countries so the original plan is back on!
Did an interview with Maidstone Radio yesterday, that can be heard via the link below. So it's all go with only 40 days before we leave!

If you can spare a few £ please help out at www.justgiving.com/team/med2med
Many thanks, Jason
