Thanks for the info and links, I'll back pocket these for now as there's nowt wrong with the Comstars at the moment - all the rivets are tight and the rims are unmolested.

I think I like cafe racers about as much as I like custom cubs..........

If you fancy trolling sellers of anything custom, just phone/message and ask if they still have all the parts to turn it back into a MOTORCYCLE.

When my brother had a 400 auto, it had an electric switch which gave it high or low ratios, would that have any bearing on MPG? my own 79 Superdream only did about 45mpg which was disappointing but they are heavy bikes.
My brother lives in the Yorkshire Dales and his bike pulled much better than my own BMW R65, although he knew the country lanes so he had an advantage on the ride,

There is a gear lever to select high and low, he must have had one that was modified for a disabled rider.

I’m guessing the 750 is going to be around the 26mpg Mark....

I had a 400 years ago, can not remember what it was like apart that is: i did not keep it long
i think it was a bit slow. I always wanted a 750a but could never find a good one..would still
have one i think:::well if one came available that is:: :D

bloody hell that,s worse then the yamaha 350 l/c ypvs that i had years ago. :shock:
