Hi all, new here with a bit of a project
Hi everyone,
I'm Ben from north Wiltshire, I've wanted to own a Cub for a while now and I guess today was my lucky(ish) day as I was given an old C70 by a farmer who has had it sitting in his barn for many years. His children use to ride it around the fields years ago. Here's how she looks after I dragged it out from under a pile of wood:

It would appear that the engine is seized, wheels are seized and it has a spot or two of rust. I've tried to find out what year it is from the chassis number as there is only a small chunk of the number plate left. I think it's a 1978 vintage. The chassis number is C70-7064166. I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with it yet but the plan thus far is to get it stripped and get a list together to see what it needs to get it back up and running. As I have to replace the engine I think I'll see if I can get a 6V 90 engine for it.
That's all from me for now but thanks for having me in your community, I welcome any of your hints, tips and comments.
All the best
Ben

Hi C70-70 started in 1978 it would make it a C70ZZ. The 6 volt 90 will not fit as it is too big but the good news is that any 12 volt pit bike engine will fit with a few mods to the wiring .The engine may free up with some oil down the plug hole and you can get a new cylinder and piston for not much money. Where are you ?

6 Volt C90 engine won't fit engine is physically bigger.
12 Volt C90 engine or pit bike/chinese copy 90/110/125 engine is quickest route if you don't fancy an engine rebuild.

Thanks for your comments. Sorry yes I've noticed that now, just spent the last hour or so looking through previous posts on the subject. The handy thing is is that I have a new 110 lifan engine in the shed fitted to a drift trike I built, I'm temped to fit that as it there. Obviously that's a long way off at the moment.
I'm near Castle Combe
