2003 INNOVA Dodgy rust bucket or not?
Hi, I would like to know (as a newbie to bikes) if this Innova is a contender for a first bike after CBT or would you avoid it like the plague?
It has an advisory for rust from the last MOT but is MOT'd until November 2021. I thought that didn't seem so bad but I notice through its life it has failed MOT 4 times and passed 12. Is this normal for a bike of this age/ milage or has it been a bit....thrashed? The reg is LS53ZGZ and there is also a video of the bike where you can see the rust.....not sure if I can post that as a new user?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

looks a nice little project to get back in good condition if the price is right.

A bit of TLC and a good service, it'll be fine.

Thanks everyone. It's priced starting at 650 but listed as £799 on ebay. It's at an auction place but it's been on there since before Christmas.

£799 is a clasified add which is not too bad ,the Innova is getting more popular and lots of spare parts are available ,there is a 150 cc version and a member on here has done a 150 cc conversion.Lots of information and help on this site .

Re: 2003 INNOVA Dodgy rust bucket or not?
Yes it doesn't seem bad but I was reading the auction terms and conditions, I'm guessing the £799 is the auction fee of £149 added to the start price of £650. It has an unspecified reserve price too. I was thinking of going and viewing it but the fact auctions are 'sold as seen' is a bit nerve-wracking when you know virtually nothing about mechanics! I suppose it would be the same if I bought from a private seller.
I'm thinking If it passed an MOT a few months ago it can't have anything too badly wrong?

Re: 2003 INNOVA Dodgy rust bucket or not?
Looks in 'ok' condition, the rust on the wheels is a little concerning but I picked up a replacement rear wheel for my injection model off ebay for £20.
or go over with some metal polish if the rust isn't too deep
exhaust looks brand new
plastics have a few marks (not a problem)
chain guard looks like it needs sanding down and respraying or just remove it like I have done.
spares for the Innova are so cheap that replacing anything on it won't cost an arm and a leg.
Even at the price of £799 it's below most of the prices I've seen them go for.
If I had the money and needed an Innova I'd buy it and spend a bit of time tidying it up.
my opinion- go for it

It is on eBay as a classified add so no bids ,that is the price you pay .
