Dad's Bike

Post by MWM » Mon Jul 27, 2020 6:28 pm

Hi all.

I have taken on a really daft restoration project. I have riden bikes since I was 16, about 33 years and use my bike, an R1200RT for commuting and touring. I got into bikes as my dad used to take me fishing on his from about the age of 8. The first machine I ever rode on was his 1975 C50. My dad died of cancer in December, just 5 weeks after being diagnosed. It was a shock.

His C50 had sat in a friend's garden for many years and I recently managed to aquire it. It's was almost certainly beyond economical repair but I don't care. I have stripped it down and will start a full resto. This little machine means a lot to me.

Sorry for the long intro, I am fairly handy but will need lots of help and advice, both with fixing bits up and sourcing parts.

Like I said, daft......
