Suzuki FL125 Address

Post by 125erCrazy » Tue Mar 17, 2020 3:44 pm

As I have spare time was going to service said toy, however.....

Suzuki have no oem oil filters in stock & I can't remember correct part number for after market copy (something at back of my mind says same filter as RV125)

On exploded diagram there is no gasket/seal butted against bodywork filter goes against (as RV125) is there one.

Neither Fowlers or Robinsons list many parts (If any) but then the FL is past its 10 year end of production run.

If I can get out I'll try Sopers in Leigh on Sea but again can't remember his trade name on eBay to get them posted

Anybody advise

Glad you got sorted.

I've only recently started visiting Sopers again for bits. I had forgotten how pleasant it is to be served with a smile and their prices are competitive too. Oh and John Parkers as well.

Many Thanks for link.

Does the daughter still work in there? she followed in dad's footsteps and shared the passion & knowledge but when I pass assume dad is working as his Honda SG is parked outside

I spent the afternoon tracking down the right part number for the oil filter oem (If it helps folk)

16510-35G00

and bought the last 2 genuine Suzuki ones from an ebay dealer (Valley Motorcycles) at a sensible £7.95 Inc postage (twice the cost of Hi-Flo,but half the price from Suzuki GB)

I also sourced a 3rd party Amazon type seller (bike-parts-suz.com) and got various o rings and crush washers (Hayball motorcycles) but decided not to change gauze filter.

I've also contacted suzuki GB asking for a dedicated parts list as nearly 3000 listings is a nightmare to search

yeah I saw them hence my comment twice the price of Hi-Flo but I'd rather fit oem parts if possible

While we're talking FL parts: there's an unobtainable needle roller bearing (09263-13003-000) on the FL125's gearbox input shaft, it's a special type with an integrated oil seal. You can substitute the ordinary, ultra-common HK1312 needle roller bearing as used on the output shaft (09263-13002-000) pressing it flush instead of driving it all the way down into the bore, and there don't seem to be any negative consequences to the lack of an oil seal.
