I have seen a few of these before and thought about it, but it seems typically Sym parts are more difficult to get hold of maybe!? Not sure..

I almost bought one before my riders cub, they look really well finished
Ive heard the spares are now hard to get too, also the single seat meant i was sat on the bars, the same as the new Honda cub

Hi all.
Just to add to the "difficult spares" situation; around three years ago I popped into a Sym dealer in Bedford to look at a Symba. I thought the bike looked terrific, with seemingly excellent build quality. On paper, with the four gears, extra 15cc., decent brakes and suspension, it looked to be an ideal cub replacement.
To be on the safe side, I asked the shop owner if the spares backup was O.K., knowing that this bike had never been a good seller, and to his credit he said "let's have a look". He took me behind the counter to the shop's stock ordering computer to see what the situation was. It didn't take long. Blimey! he said. There is almost nothing showing as available.

Just a word of warning. If it wasn't for this problem, I'd have one in a flash.

Regards, Mickb.

Just asking. Isn't the Symba largely similar to Chinese Cub clones, meaing that generic parts fit straight on?

I think the engine is similar but most parts on the one i looked at were different
I guess if you get one cheaply its worth a punt as long as you dont need parts fast i bet they can be ordered from overseas suppliers

Hi all,

Now reduced to £800. Hmm, how low will this go?

I bought one of these a few years back in the USA for my "ex".

It was a well made little thing and only had 400 odd miles on it when purchased.

Build quality far superior to the Rider's Super Cub.

It's probably still sitting in the garage alongside my 1983 Suzuki GS450GA.... :?
