Sinnis Hero 125 - first 250 miles review
https://www.sinnismotorcycles.com/product/sinnis-hero/
Essentially a Yamaha Cygnus 125 next generation twist n go scooter , remodelled, new 4th gen efi CY6 engine, better brakes - no kickstart ..
Red or white colours only..
I've just finished the first 250 miles of run in, attended Southern Softies on it, so ( with a little more throttle ) at my disposal I thought I'd give my thoughts.. first service 1000 miles...
Love the brakes, large twin discs, triple calipers.. this was my main draw of scoot over others - they work *well* & helped me out last night when some kn*b in a hatchback shot across a roundabout I was entering - enough said, they may save your life.
Starts off the button, and very fast off the mark, 10bhp - currently settles out at 30 mph at low revs, 40 mph mid revs, 53 mph cruising .. very torquey when needed, will go faster - doesnt really bother me.
Petrol cap in legshield & 7.4l tank - new to me & very handy. Led dash - odo/speed/revs/battery/petrol . Turn indicators hard to see in daylight - no beeping. Switchgear looks good quality.. Fiendish key lock, hexagonal key to open, then twist to lock, turn to open seat, turn to open petrol tank..sometimes fiddly.. I can get my full face helmet under the seat with wet gear - theres a handy little 'glove box' in the legshield too.
WIll take a universal screen - can't see any other fixing points available.
If you ask for a back rack to be fitted, Sinnis will replace the sexy grabrail with a heavyweight tubed affair, looks functional
just not sexy... but aren't we all.. I got a great deal on the fitting of a small top box.
The build quality seems very good but at 250 miles who can tell ?
The ergonomic seat is very comfortable, I'm 5'10, for my short daily commute but the hump killed me doing the 100 mile Softies. Might play with the adjustable rear shocks..
My main issue is that some scrote will nick the darn thing .. I bought a screemer disc lock, its just a deterrant.. but its a worry I didnt have with the cub - always someone with a more nickable bike than yours..
The price currently comes out at £1800, which convinced me - I bought from One2Wheels, Shoreham - lots of dealers about.
Might float your boat. Have a try.

Thanks for taking the time to feedback your views.
It was on my short list but ended up on the cutting room floor sadly as Sinnis tend to be small dealer ships here & the PX price was laughable (usual story more you spend the more they give you).
I've passed your post to a mate whose currently looking for new wheels

OnTheWheel, and it's Portslade. Locals would be up in arms at labelling it Shoreham!

Knowing Sinnis, it's likely to be a Znen underneath - shouldn't really give you any problems
I love a GY6. Perhaps I'll get another from new this year.
I'm getting a little out of date now but I think all Sinnis' scooter offering is from Znen. Lexmoto's scooter offering is all Longjia/Znen. I don't think you can go far wrong with a Chinese scooter now - those companies have pretty much sorted themselves out

Re: Sinnis Hero 125 - first 250 miles review
Update: In cold weather it really prefers a few minutes warm up, even after the autochoke has cut out - if brought to a stop when cold it may stall & takes a few turns to start again.. so I find its better to give it a few minutes on the drive first.
Bar that - all hunky dory.

Kev

Discovered the emergency lights today... turned them on by mistake & had to hunt for the rather obvious switch on the handset ..

Dear all,
Is there likely to be anything worth getting serviced on a new scoot thats only done 1k since its last service ?
I figure I can check for loose bolts myself..
Total mileage 2k.
regards
Kev

If you've been changing the oils and filters, no.
If you haven't, yes.
The other question is whether it is still under warranty, and whether you want to maintain that warranty.
