Royal Enfield Classic 500 efi
Well I said I'd put some pics up.
I've picked her up thanks to billyfix and his giant van and the fantastic mr. fox.
With only 137 miles on the clock, I took her for my first spin today.
Suspension: soft
Brakes: poor
Comfort: adequate
Steering: left or right
Cornering: it will lean
Engine/exhaust sound: perfect ( will be even better with shorter exhaust I've ordered)
Gearbox: not bad
Torque: very good
Acceleration:I'm running it in
Character: shed loads
Build quality: better than I thought
Vibrations: yes
Ride: UNIQUE
Verdict: love it!

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500 efi
Ive just sold me UCE bullet. Only because I was using it as me number 1 two up bike, and they do have their limitations.
I really love bullets, and Im sure that I'll have another one day as a second bike. We hire one every year in Goa and have loads of fun.The 350 uce we hired this year had 22000 miles on it and ran like new.
Royal Enfield are really progressing with their range now and are worthy bikes. I fitted an iridium plug, and a Hitchcocks free flow pipe and it was full of character.
Congrats, a lovely bike.

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500 efi
Have you worked out that the rear subframe and mudguard are quick release?
It was designed at a time when punctures were more commonplace.
Can't stand the things myself, after all my first diesel Enfield will clock over 200,000 miles this summer and only needs the odd bit of maintenance like rebuilding every 3-4 years.
Never had an EFI but know lots of owners that do, new Interceptor seems very popular too.

I almost bought that same model but in black.
It was the dealer and support network that put me off, not the bike. It is much better now.
I had one on loan for a day and it was marvellous.
Enjoy!

Thankee kindly goodmembers.
You'll notice also that my garage has now been completed apart from the floor being painted and the electrics.

If you lay it up for any length of time add some fuel preserver and take it for a small run so it goes through the pump and injector.

Thanks DD. It's only been out a couple of times over the last 15 months with only 137 miles on the clock.Diesel Dave wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 3:51 pmIf you lay it up for any length of time add some fuel preserver and take it for a small run so it goes through the pump and injector.
When I put petrol in it yesterday (super unleaded) it was almost certainly only the second time it's ever happened.
Any running in thoughts, anyone? I was certainly working the gearbox yesterday and taking her up to half throttle in 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Same advice I give for C90’s, buy a 40 quid TTO cylinder head temp gauge and watch it like a hawk.knapdog wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:07 pmThanks DD. Doesn’t matter if you run it in hard or soft, just don’t overheat it and melt the piston or more likely drop out an exhaust valve seat.
