if you think that is bad i managed to fit a five wire switch to my 4 wire loom. its just a matter of removing one of the green earth wires and swapping the multiplugs over by carefully removing the pins from within the block. it took me around 5 minutes and saved me around a tenner. i had the switch for free and it was also new and un-used with 2 keysBlack Sheep Radical wrote:(like those 12V ignition switches with the wires the wrong way round).krazy kev wrote:it might be possible that this does not happen with all bulbs so check before swapping the cables in case the bulb is ok

Re: Halogen Headlight Bulbs for 12v C90 Cub.....
Hi all,
Sorry to dig up an old thread, this is my first post and seemed relevant to what I'm looking for. I have recently bought an 1982 cub 50 and the lighting is poor to say the least. Well, headlight at anyways.
I have some 12v LED floodlights sitting around that I bought for an old Land Rover. My question is can I just mount one of these on off the front mudguard bolt and connect it into the "p" wiring behind the headlamp? Two different LEDs I have are either 10w or 36w from memory.
Or would I be better wiring it to full beam? I was worried of overloading that circuit or blowing the main fuse that way.
Thanks in advance.

Neither, as they're both AC feeds and they'll break down the diodes after a little while and ruin the lamp.bhkeith wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2017 2:01 pmHi all,

You'll need to find a (probably black) DC switched live feed and wire into that, although I'm not sure the Cub's electrics would be up to the job...

Ah ok I see. Thanks for the reply. You reckon they won't even be able to run the 10w LED? That's the one I was swaying towards as it shouldn't look too out of place. Think it still said light output was around 800lm.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Both chris and i have been running 2 x 10w cheep Chinese LED spots on each bike directley off of the full beem wires so AC for ovet two years with no issues, yes they will filker on tick over but are okay once the bike hits about 1700 rpm and are really bright too, if you've already got the spots give it ago, loads of peps told me they wouldn't work off A.C. but they do!
Thanks Terry

Hi guys,
Well I managed to fit the 10w spot off the battery through an inline fuse then switch. That was all good then I found an LED hi/low main headlight on eBay with H4 fitting that runs on AC with a small inline rectifier/regulator. Just chopped the H4 plug off and put 2 bullet and 1 spade onto the wires to match my harness. I must have a bigger output off the Lifan engine as its all working. Main/dip only flickers at very low revs.
Thanks for all the help. I'll try post a pic of the led I fitted.

That's interesting - mine lasted about 3 months before breaking down - yours must be much better spots!onittino3 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2017 9:33 pmBoth chris and i have been running 2 x 10w cheep Chinese LED spots on each bike directley off of the full beem wires so AC for ovet two years with no issues, yes they will filker on tick over but are okay once the bike hits about 1700 rpm and are really bright too, if you've already got the spots give it ago, loads of peps told me they wouldn't work off A.C. but they do!

Hello
Can anyone tell me where these 35/35 halogen bulbs can be sourced or a part number that I can use to search for them online. I'd really like to do something about the poor light that my a993 JDM C90 gives out. Thank you so much for your help
Andy
