Honda c90 1981 One of a kind bike £500
Honda C90 1981 camo bike 14,000 miles, mot until June 2012, tax until end of May 2012. As you can see it has been painted in camo colours and has been fitted with hard luggage and accessories ( drinks bottle, tool kit, pump etc ). The previous owner has fitted a new frame which was painted in red oxide before being camo painted, so there is no rust at all. The frame had to be registered with the dvla ( much to my annoyance ), as I had to go through the whole registering a new bike process. But it is now complete and I have a v5, mot and tax updated with the new reg. So she is ready to go. The bike runs perfectly with no rattles, leaks and it doesn't smoke.
The tyres have good tread, brakes all work fine.
The baffles have been removed from the exhaust so it is a little nosier, but not too bad.
Bad points: The front mudguard has a small crack in it which has been repaired from the inside with black tape on the outside.
The screen has a crack in it.
I am based in Cornwall if you are interested.
If you need it to be delivered then I know of a courier, just send me your postcode and I'll get a quote.
I am after £500 for the bike

Looks like the sort of thing I'm after. I need a moped to ride from John O'Groats to Lands End and then use for commuting after that. This bike looks perfect except it needs to be 50cc. However I'm handy with spanners so does anyone know if a swap to a 50 and back again is easy enough. Is it just engine-carb-exhaust? Is there anything else that would need doing before riding it all day every day for a week? Friction pads/Shoes/Break linings/Shocks?
Oh and I've PM'd my postcode for a courier quote.

You'll be in trouble with this bike. The 90cc 6volt is completely different than all the other variations you can get. All the other engines are inter changeable except the 6volt 90. It can be done with the aid of a bracket system. Also you'd need to look for a 6volt engine otherwise you'd need to change wiring loom too.madjakmclaferty wrote:Looks like the sort of thing I'm after. Thanks for the info, are 6 volt 50cc motors available? Or are wiring looms and 12v 90cc motors about?
Thinking aloud perhaps maybe I should look for a 50cc and keep it standard.

I have heard it is possible to put a 12v stator in a 6v 90 but I am unsure about the 50.
I won't get the quote for you yet as you sound unsure, let me know.

Re: Honda c90 1981 One of a kind bike
Fitting a 50 wont make it a moped ..and dvla wont be too happy to change it to a moped on the registration book .But as said the 90 6volt is unique .not an easy swap.
