I’m selling my little Cub. I’ve had her about a year and have only done around 650 miles on gentle bimbles around the beautiful countryside of the Fylde and Trough of Bowland.
The details about her: She’s done 9,043 miles, and looking at the MOT history online, that feels pretty genuine. She doesn’t have her original engine: at some point in the past someone has fitted a YZ 107cc engine with a 4 speed gearbox. I’ve had the V5C updated to reflect that change so all the numbers match. The electric start is fitted but isn’t wired in, but she’s always fired up on the first kick.
In my care, she’s had the petrol pipes renewed, front suspension bushes renewed, the head stock bearing changed, the cush rubbers replaced, and new brake shoes at the front, I’ve fitted a chain guard and a centre stand, and a new kick start and leg shield. The electrics were a bit ropey (the YZ loom and the Honda loom were cobbled together) so I’ve had that re-done and all electrics are now fine and working. I’ve also sourced a white Givi top box. It looks huge in the pictures but it isn’t really!
There are plenty of pictures to look at so I won’t bang on about her condition.
I’m a great believer in honesty in adverts so. . . . . . . . she’s not perfect!
Her major detraction I think is the rear wheel: the rim is a bit rusty and the spokes are too. Front wheel is fine, as is the exhaust. Both tyres are good too. There is a tiny tear in the rear corner of the seat (pictured) but with the rear rack in place, you can’t see it. The battery cover suffers from the usual sun fading that this colour seems prone to. The tool box cover has a small crack in it (repaired and strengthened) and the handlebar cowling has been resprayed in the past and in the sunlight, you can see the rubbing down scratches.
All in all, there are a few small detractions, but she’s never let me down and is a sweet, honest little runner.
She comes with the correct model Haynes manual, an MOT (no advisories) until 22nd July 2020. She’s SORN’d and uninsured.
To save looking at my profile, I’m in Preston and can’t deliver!
