Re: 1978 Red C90 for sale
Engine sounds great on the film. In defence of 6 volt C90s, you get a much bigger fuel tank (5.5 litre as oposed to 12v 3.5) a slightly more rust-proof frame (thicker metal and no plastic rear to hide rot) and Cub lights are pretty crap whether powered by 6 or 12 volts!!
As far as running full-bore for four hours, I would probably trust the 12v to get away with this more than the 6v, but it's a rare old situation, and in normal use they're both well up to the job.
PS - The 6v C70 is just like the 12v C90 in design Jamlip - (That's all the 12v 90 is - a long stroke C70 engine!!)

It certainly is a gorgeous looking and sounding beastie. I do much prefer the look of the 6 volters.
Does it still run okay with the original carb/air filter?
Cheers,

I wasn't having much luck with the original one, hence swapping to a pitbike carb. It's included in the sale anyway, plus some spare parts.
This bike does run great as is. I'd like to keep it cos it's cool, but it's getting in the way of my C100 & IWL.

For what it's worth, a friend just brought me over a CT90 chrome rack, tank (in red) and black solo seat from the US.

Agh... tried to take it out for a ride today and it developed a high-RPM misfire. I've had enough of this bike now - I just want out. £550 takes it.

Dunno. Time to move it on and spend time on something else (like the C100)...

Hmm... It's working again now. The wires that lead into the condenser weren't seated properly. Took it up the road again and it runs great. It's seems like it has mysteriously acquired bags of torque - the bike tugs you forward as you shift up the gears
Still bloody fed up with it though.
