1971 Beaver brown C90 8k from new
I'm seriously considering selling my 1971 C90, it was dry stored for 20yrs before I bought it and has only covered what appears to be a genuine 8400 miles from new. It doesn't look like it's ever seen salt, the underneath of the rear frame was clean once I cleaned the dust off and still painted brown with no rust! I have photos (it's now covered with waxoyl).
I've not tried to restore it (it's far too good and totally original for that), but just gently recommisioned it, new rear tyre, cleaned & checked the brakes, changed oil & cleaned filter screen, fitted new battery, air filter etc. All electrics work & it runs and rides well.
It's ready for an mot & can be mot'd for the buyer. It will be historic vehicle Free Tax. The only anomoly is that when the dvla sent the logbook to me they seem to have made a mix up and the frame number etc on the V5 is different to the bike, which is odd because the bike came with original number plate and old tax discs etc and obviously has never been messed about with so they must have made a mix up on their computer, I've not contacted them to sort it out yet but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The original paintwork is extremely good with only the smallest bits of rust (insignificant really) and the chrome is in very good, but not mint condition, the exhaust is the worst bit with surface rusting (but not rotten).
I dont know how to get photos on the website but can email pics to anyone interested.
I'm looking for £1000 ono for it to hopefully fund the purchase of a morris minor.

To be honest I think I've overpriced the C90, I've booked it in for an mot today and been to see the dvla to sort out the V5 anomoly, got to take it for an inspection next week. Maybe when it's logbook is sorted & with a years mot and some free tax it'll attract a buyer.

Still waiting for confirmation from the dvla whether it can keep the original reg number or whether it'll have to be allocated an age related plate as THEY got the numbers on V5 wrong
It's been inspected by them and they're happy it's not been messed with but they're checking the archives, worst case scenario it'll require a dating letter from Honda uk or VJMC (£28) & documents taking to DVLA office to alocate new number (as it's already been inspected), which costs around £50.
If anyone wants it as it is (it does have a years mot now) £700 takes it for quick sale, if I have to wait & sort V5 it'll obviously be a little more.

Well, they don't set a limit, I told them I had 3 or 4 to do.
And actually, they don't follow up to ensure you've become a member, so you could get it for free, but, c'mon, £20, and you get a years membership, you'd have to be pretty hard hearted to take take take and give nothing in return.
I post this information up in the knowledge that the cubbers I've met are decent and fair minded, and will do the right thing.
I chatted to the chap who actually does it for the club, and he's a diamond, does it for free, and a real enthusiast.
Please don't abuse the facility that the HOC provide. They don't ask much, in fact anything at all. Just don't abuse it. Please.
I think you may even get a news letter as part of the membership, and other benefits. It has to be worth while .
Oh by the way Ross, the above isn't aimed at you, but the readers that I HAVEN'T met!
