Having just sold one of my old bikes I fancy having something quirky but not too expensive. Does anyone have experience with these? In particular there is a new one offered on Ebay at the moment for £1675 plus on the road charges etc. There is also a Bluroc Legend which seems to be the same thing at just over £2000. Its no Grom but it does seem to be a fun machine that doesn't take up much space. Engine is now 11 HP and Euro 5 compliant.

Any thoughts?

They rust faster than you can blink as i recall from the VanVan forum heyday from owners but for £1675 worth a punt

Thanks Cap. I'll definitely give that some thought. I am also considering the Bluroc ( AKA Bullit ) Heritage version because I would prefer to support local dealers and Bluroc may have better quality control and warranty.

No argument from me, there. A local dealer is a worthwhile consideration with these bikes.

Supporting them is key to making sure they are still around when you need them.

Well I have taken the plunge and ordered the Bluroc heritage 125. The extra expense may be prudent in the long run and in any case I don't like to see local dealers having a hard time because of on-line sales.

Well I picked up the Bluroc 125 on Saturday in spite of the bike shop proprietor showing me that the engine management light was staying on. I reckoned I had a better chance of sorting it out than he did but it caused a fair bit of grief before I finally seem to have fixed it. Lack of information about the latest version of the electronics was the main issue. I did have some luck in finding a shop manual for the Skyteam version of the same machine which although slightly out of date did have a lot of information about the diagnostics for the Rojo ECU.

Firstly most of the settings can be accessed by magical manipulations of the throttle and main ignition switch. This allows some resetting of the system and also exposure of diagnostic pulses on the warning light rather than just a continuous light. The aforementioned told me that his plug in diagnostic device wouldn't work and I tried two different OBD adapters and several different diagnostic programs before I found one combination that did work. It was the "torque" app on an Android tablet that successfully cleared the fault code after I had fixed the problem.

Riding impressions so far are as you might expect. Its good fun but its no Honda, well perhaps its a bit like a 30 year old Honda but, using last years Grom as the benchmark, nowhere near as smooth, sophisticated, and easy to ride as a modern Honda.

Latest discovery is that there is a very harsh speed limiter which effectively cuts out the engine at 50 mph. This is apparently a Euro 5 thing and not a rev. limiter. I'll know more when I have changed the gearing and installed a rev counter but in the present state I regard this as dangerous in any dual carriageway situation with following traffic and busy lanes. Its got to be fixed!

I must be restricted like the JDM bikes though the Speedo.
Should be easily modified.
