engine change

Post by chippy58 » Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:37 pm

Hi I have rebuilt a c90 zz engine to put in my 74 st70 the two mounting tunnels for the studs are about 4mm wider than the gap in the frame .Has anyone done this change ? If so how much do you reduce the casing mount points by ? and on which side to keep the rear chain aligned ?
Cheers chippy

Unusual swap as the 90zz engine is as powerful as the 70 but not as reliable,a better swap would be a 12 volt 90 which would bolt straight in .

Ok...sorry. but the 6v c90 is pants.. if you had the 12v c90 engine it would drop straight in...
As most people are saying on here... your taking a step backwards re technology/finding parts and major running issues.

c70 much more reliable than the 6v c90 charging problems with the 6v 90 stay with the c70 john

On the upside, there is a market for a rebuilt C90ZZ motor. You may have to advertise it for a bit longer but it will sell.
