Jim, it don't know if this will help, but I have had similar experiences, so I figured it wouldn't harm to share.

Whenever I had a bag fitted by a female nurse, they insisted on cutting the tube to size so the bag sat on my knee joint.

This was a right pain for walking working, doing anything really. There is probably some method in this, as it prevents you from moving around too much. However, if you are otherwise well it's a pain in the arse.

What I did was speak to my GP who wrote me a prescription for 30 bags at a time, and cleared it so that I could change my own.

The bags come with a long length of tube and a sterile pair of scissors plus gloves and at least one velcro, elastic strap. Keep the strap from each one, as they are useful.

Cut the tubing so the bag sits just above your ankle, or on your calf if you want to wear your Doc Martens.

Use two straps on your thigh to secure the tube down your inside leg. Use one just below your knee, and fit when your knee is bent, leaving a loose loop of tube that follows your knee shape.

Secure the bag with another strap.

Done properly, you can walk, work, stand, crouch, whatever. Just remember to empty the bag regularly or it looks like you have swollen ankles.

Capitano thanks for that info, I’ve found for myself a similar way of installing the bag - but it helps if the bag is the right size (750 ml) and not 300ml where ons is forever emptying the darned thing. I now have a supply of 10 x bags together with tapes which I change myself and which are worn below the knee leaving the drain tap out of sight above the ankle.

At moment I’m going through some kind of chemo for 1 day x 6 weeks..... it’s a right pain - literally where the substance has to be kept in for two hours making one feel like bursting while driving home; the sheer pain really necessitating a plentiful supply of pain killers. I have just one more session to go - the trouble with this procedure is that it makes me feel so tired with the need to rest for lengthy periods, following the final visit at some time in the future a further investigation will verify the results.

I’ve amassed a few more bits for my ST and look forward to being able to fit them in comfort, meanwhile it’s looking really great and I look forward to riding it - hopefully near 40mph.

Receiving goods from eBay is like opening Christmas wrappers - very enjoyable, I don't envisage ultra long journeys on my litle ST70 but I do have regrets about the extra small fuel tank holding about 2-1/2 to 3 litres so I set about finding a suitable container for the job, one that does not spoil the looks of the ST but holding sufficient fuel for a decent journey.....
I first found the container available from the States (at States side prices + import duties and carriage - making the deal much less than acceptable, looking further I found a very similar item on Amazon UK for just £35.99 so I ordered it and it arrived today - not bad 24 hr service.
The container is purpose made for Gasoline, is black, and has an ingenious key locking device, it holds 1.3galls (5 litres) of fuel and can be reasonably easily fitted to the previously bought carrier rack.
- But of course Everyone’s got one so I’m not alone......

I used a aux tank from a CT110 on a homemade bracket on one of my ST70's.
Very hard to get now and not cheap to buy even back when i got this one,i had it chromed as they are gray as stock.
Holds just a bit more than the stock tank.
