Our advice on these - just dumped em now , we're in the process of trying other tyres , some folks were on proper wets at Anglesey the grip looked phenomenal ; I can't source them though !!

Hiya,

I'm racing in the annual race at Mondello Park next month. The bike (2000 Honda C90 non electric start) is bog standard and even though it will be dragging my 16 stone bum around I would like to keep it standardish for the Standard Class. But for me the rear brake pedal has ground clearance issues. Can anyone recommend a set of pegs/brake pedal/gearchange setup that I can pick up at a breakers cheapish and remove the original setup.

Also any known cheapish modifications to make it run as quick as possible receommened?. I might drop a tooth on the standard rear gearing but reckon anything more than that it would struggle to pull to top revs with me onboard.

Buy a mountain bike brake lever, and rig it up the the rear brake, then remove the brake pedal altogether. I just welded on a few nut to the rear brake arm for the other end of the cable. Worked a treat, and cost me about £3 to do.

Retractable pegs are a must to avoid digging in.

Plenty left-hand brake levers on Ebay. You can get away with using the original rear brake rod, turning drum arm the other way up, and connected to a handlebar mounted lever and cable.
You might want to go down one tooth on the front for Mondello as straights aren't that long.

Mines all fettled and ready for Ireland next month!
Finally binned the rear light unit and indicators. Its a daylight-only bike now.
Also put three more stickers on it :) Bound to go faster now!......

plop motor stripped, new con rod fitted, then a rebuild with new clutch.
