Another thought is buying a brand new 125 where you can make monthly payments on it some are not too expensive £70 a month something like that, don't know if that is something you could do?

Keeping my spending down, not a case of not being able to afford one.

so 2 nights in a row long trips to see 2 hondas

1st one was a cg single with twin port that i linked earlier, in a post.

surprise surprise had a lifan engine coz this 3x L logo was on the cases.

3 hrs to do 90mile to see a 82 cg125 last night , and guy swore blind didn't smoke.

smoked really heavy, and forks had wear on right going into seal, and he'd cleaned up the tubes on the fork with a steel wire bush or sommat.

frame only had light rust and no dents in tank, but another 6 hrs wasted and petrol :

Trouble is, words out! Honda's are brilliant ...... hence even the ones that aren't go for lots of money.

words out any old jap 125 is better than a new chinese bike. and as the latest japanese factory 125's are 2-3 times price of a chinese bike (and often made in same place) then a lot of learners are wising up and buying a old 125, as its more dependable and hold there value better than a chinese bike. a 5yo chinese bike is scrap or worth nothing, often sold before first mot is due. at least if you pay 600 for a second hand suz/kwak/honda/yam 125, run it for a yr, look after it, when sold you don't get arse ripped out in devaluation. often turning a profit. after all often a old 125 is actually quicker than a "modern" 125. especially strokers.

probably why these sellers are trying to pass off lifans as a honda, cos worth more, and a lot of inexperienced buyers wouldn't know until to late.
