Alot of them old 70's pedal and pop mopeds have registration plates which sell for sale for a lot of money with DVLA and other places like that. So maybe that could be why that one is 995. There was a Puch one for sale a month ago had a good reg that I wanted DJV3Y.

Haha, my wife bought it for herself at a local classic bike jumble a couple of weeks' ago. She doesn't even know how to ride the thing - she sat it in the living room so she can sit back and admire it.crammy69 wrote:Lovely, Its almost Art!
Personally, I don't mind. In my eyes, it sets a perfect precedent - no more cold days working on my bikes in the garage

actually boo, i sat there thinking now if i can get a nc50 front wheel, and some say Honda MT50 front fork or other long enduro type, i was considering fitting them to the red cub and making it a custom, in the ilk of a Raleigh chopper... great minds think alike! mind you would Mr DVLA and Mr MOT test it! therein lies the dilema. but would make for a diff style unique cub custom.

You want to start with a raleigh wisp, one member waslooking at this and had some nice drawings of the proposed bike ,I do not think he shared them though.

DVLA don't need to know anything! Don't give the suspicious buggers an excuse!Cerberus73 wrote:would Mr DVLA and Mr MOT test it!
MOT depends on the tester I suppose. So long as the brake's powerful enough then I can't see any problem.

Re: 1980 NC50 Express "noped"
John old field came through yet again! found me the plastic "carb cover" which even cmsnl didn't have. and nearest i could find myself was in the states with extortionate postage and price!. it wasn't cheap at £16 quid posted for a piece of plastic 4x5 inch approx., but its like rocking horse poop to find. now i need a air filter and cover, well front section of cover, seat complete, or a new cover and seat pan. and new front basket. thats the hard to find stuff.
Other parts to complete.. ignition barrel, new brake shoes front and rear, brake cables, tyres, tubes. decal set and some Honda YR-26 shiny orange paint, and some orange vinyl dye for the plastics. new piston and rings, and drive chain just to be on safe side. and all the screws, nuts etc sent off to be replated at me friendly local place. this all sounds a lot but most of these parts are dirt cheap, new piston is £15, decals complete are like £30 (pretty pricey i thought) cables few quid each, brake shoes £6 a set, and ignition barrel £8 dunno what tyres will be yet as can't find any (2.25 x 14)

Not sure about the quality/price of these tyres, but if needs must:

Several tyres on Ebay Germany, inc. Pirelli, but you'd have to find a way of shipping them:

Also, might be some stuff of interest here:

Here's another quirky moped, 2 stroke reed valve and pretty quick I've heard and shafty drive.
