1950 Riedel "Imme"
Perhaps I've not gone far enough back in the archive but I haven't seen anyone here mention the 1948 to 1951 Reidel designed small motorcycles. They were made in response to material shortages in Germany after WW2 and although minimalist in every way remain stylish. To my eyes all the details are just stunning. One came up for sale on t'bay a couple of months back and failed to sell at £7,000. There are some nice images at http://www.theworldofmotorcycles.com/_r ... ooter.html and it's worth looking closely at the details.

Very interesting CubMate. Never seen those before. Mad single-sided swingarm and girder fork! Some brilliant post-war designs came out of Germany. A lot of influence on early Honda designs - particularly from NSU.
Actually - thinking of design copies - It looks like it might have had some influence on the Honda Solo 40-odd years later?
(one of these might be better for y'r 140 plan Dread )

Strangely given the engine position and the aluminium finning it had overheating problems. Norbert Riedel's reply was to "ride it faster"
