Honda Dylan

Post by Knobby » Sat Aug 20, 2011 11:10 pm

I have won a Dylan off ebay :D

Been thinking of getting one for a while now. While my C90 will get me where I want to go I was looking of a bike that was not as big as my FJ1200 but bigger then my C90.
While a dylan isnt much bigger than a C90 it will get me to work a bit quicker than a C90 and be able to handle motorways better.

I should be collecting it next weekend so pics and etails to follow.

Anybody else here got a dylan?

Yep ive also got a Dylan!! ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC SCOOTER!!!!!! I bought mine new in 2006 and its been completely faultless in all the 14000miles ive put on it. I saw 3 in my local Honda dealership (alongside the Ps125 which was new at the time but didnt look as good although it has fuel injection) and liked the look of them so went home and read the reviews!! At the time it was rated as the best 125 scooter available and i certainly agreed with that once id riden it. Its a good looking bike, well made, very nippy acceleration between 0-40mph which is great fun round town, top speed on mine is 72mph in perfect conditions (65ish the norm). Servicing is expensive with Honda though so i do it all myself but thats not a problem as its quite a simple bike. If you've bought a good one then you wont be dissapointed!! Enjoy.

Now that sounds better :)
This is what I have heard once before about Dylans.

A top speed of about 60mph will do me just fine.It will get me to work along the M25 at that speed and will also handle A roads a bit better than a C90.
Im not going to sell my C90 as I do like riding it,I cant fault a C90 in what it does but just need a bit more top end speed.

Does a Dylan have under seat storage space?

What are the engines like to work on?
I have no idea about these bikes at all

yeah i love my c90 too but the Dylan is such a good bike!! Quite heavy compared but this just adds to its more sturdy feel so much better on motorways etc. Yep it does have underseat storage which fits a medium sized crash helmet, very useful!! Does about 150 miles to £10 doing a fast dual carriageway commute so not as good as a c90 but still ok. Highly recommended bike!!

The underseat storage is a bonus, the one I should be getting has a rack and top box aswell.
I say should be as it is off ebay and if when I goto get it its not as advertised I can walk away.

I'm not a fan of the little wheels but it IS a Honda!

You didn't fancy an Innova ANF125? It has storage under the seat, will do 60 and has big wheels. Quite Cub like too .......... but then i don't really know much aboutr the Dylan.

Main reason is all the innovas i looked at on ebay where either too far away or to expensive.
If one had come up close enough and at the right money I would have got one

Being a Honda is what mattered to me by far!! At the time you could get much cheaper 125 scooters from China etc for less than £1000 otr BUT how long would they last and how easy is it to get parts? To me it was worth spending the extra money on a Honda!
Did look at the ANF125 but thought it was too c90 like and as i was keeping the c90 aswell wanted something different.
