The Postie

Post by bikerbaker » Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:57 am

Bought this Dec 2017 in Rye, Victoria. Rode it for a couple of months before flying home and due to breaking my leg, then Covid I've not been back until just before Christmas.
Managed to start it today after a 6 year slumber, new battery, stripped and rebuilt the taps which were all blocked with crap, fresh fuel and away she went. To say I was eager to ride it was an understatement, I have been riding Tim's SFV650 and wearing all the gear but my enthusiasm saw me riding in shorts, T shirt and Crocs.

It's a 1972 CT90 ex Postie bike with a 1995 CT110 (12v) engine and other subtle mods. The Honda CR250 tank is not working as I broke the tap, waiting on new taps and fuel line and just ordering a new indicator stalk as I broke one.

Now it's running I'll be giving it an oilchange, new grooved front shoes and cush rubbers, maybe even a new plug.

Oh, and went to Woolworths again today.

Oilchange, fixed indicator stem, the rest will have to wait as we've both been using it.

Brilliant Chris, look forward to hearing all about it at the Southern Softies, whenever that is.

Just a couple of minutes out of the hours of riding done in January, about 500 miles in total. This was one of a couple of trips on the Great Ocean Road and provides justification (not that I need it) for the bike's purchase and keeping the rego up all this time.
Shows how loud the bike is, I did end up using earplugs.

Can't wait to get back, plans are afoot to venture a bit further and involve using Tim & Tina's camper.
