I bet you’ll have to put a bit more fuel in it than a C125.😁
Quoted for a second time JohnS. 😄

Here's something I pondered on, we know a Super cub 125 ridden steady can get astronomical MPG, but if it were ridden flat out followed by a 350 Hunter I wonder how much difference there would be? How much easier would the R.E be working?
Looking on Fuelly it looks as though the worst folks with C125's manage is about 120 MPG, the 350 platform Royal Enfields manage about 110 on a good day..... with some posting more.
This depends on how easily a R.E 350 would keep up with an enthusiastic C125... Maybe I'm overlooking the top speed of the C125 & how close to flat-out the R.E would also be...
Maybe sometimes it better not to think...😆

Since my earlier contribution to this post I ditched the idea of buying a Zontes and instead went for the Honda CB300R. The great thing about it is that it can be ridden gently and return 90+ mpg or ridden flat out in the outside lane and only get 65 mpg. Now that running in is done I have tried both and usually compromise between them. What the Honda doesn't have is the RE classical styling or character so I completely understand why others make that choice.

That makes a lot of sense. The CB300r is a lovely bit of kit and definitely quicker and more lively than the Royal Enfield Classic 350 I’ve got.

it’s a horses for courses thing and there are no wrong answers. Either way we both ride great bikes :D

Agreed the CB300R is, well it's a Honda so I need say no more. 👍

To add to my fuel consumption theories 😄, I filled up today & was able to calculate 40kmpl which is 115mpg (UK).
This is babying it while running in & I doubt I'll ever do better mpg.
I imagine the speed I've been doing wouldn't be too taxing for a C125 so it should do a good bit better ......

Been pondering in this. My super Cub manages between 130 and 160 mpg, depending on how slow I’m going. You do have to use the gearbox a fair bit compared to my Enfield. The Enfield just managed 100 mpg fully loaded with camping gear on a tour of Brittany. At home with higher speed limits I get about 95 mpg.
The Enfield would keep up with the Super Cub easily, it has way more torque and is quite happy sitting in top gear above 30mph with 4th for most hills at low speeds, 5th for most hills at higher speed.
The truth is they’re both great fun to ride and always bring out a smile whenever and wherever I’m riding. They both have character and charm, a rare thing these days.

That’s a good explanation Slowboy, the Enfield won’t do the mpg the Cub125 will do but it isn’t as far apart as might be expected, and the Enfield being a bit faster too....

Just fuelled up for the second time brimming the tank & surprised to get 118mpg as I've been working it a bit harder, but generally keeping it under 80kph/50mph.
Anyway, I'll drop it now as it's not really C90 stuff.......😉

Take care all & happy riding. 🙂

I wouldn't worry. Post as much Enfield 350 stuff as you like on this thread.

It's why it was collated. 8-)

I've an inkling that these Enfield 350s ( Meteor, Classic, Hunter so far,) are going to be of interest to forum folks.

I'll seriously consider collating every Enfield 350 post into here from now on, and merge any new topics about these bikes.

OK, I don't take much encouraging...😆

Surprising I've just rolled over 900kms in the first week of ownership, I picked it up a week ago midday tomorrow.
I do work....😬... but ended up unexpectedly with lots of free time this week, I didn't cry instead just jumped on the Hunter.
It is slow, but once that's accepted it's a nice place to be, accompanied by a great soundtrack.

I've just clocked up 5Kms (3K miles) trouble free. What did suprise me was my last fuel up at 127mpg!
The last 400km tankful had taken me along plenty of backroads where I'd have cruised at no more than 50mph but did include a lot of hill climbing.
The fill-up before that was lower than average at 106mpg.
I know it's not up there with many ultra economical bikes but it's better than I was expecting, it's more fuel efficient than my 06 Yamaha XT125R & it's a blooming torquey 350!
