Super Dream 400n

Post by Mattt » Sun Feb 13, 2022 6:26 pm

Well the Sh300 is gone
Quick look and found a Super dream 400N for sale ,had a look and picked it today !
It needs a few things ,front brakes seals and pads plus fork oil seal and a good clean
Might find some better silencers at some point ,its going to be my weekly hack, 44hp and 180kg,twin front discs it shoukd go ok ,hopefully a bit more nippy than the 250 i had ,and not as nickable as the scooter I hope
Tried to upload a pic but it was too large a file

Must admit you put the idea into my head ,400s are not so plentiful so i was lucky to find one an hour away that wasnt a wreck or a fortune

Its had a lot spent on it about 10 years ago, plus a recent ecu for 500 quid
I dropped it off at a mates place whos well into these, its got a later black cased engine amd rear seat cowl from a later bike
It was originally red as well
It needs fork seals ,new pads ,battery and a good clean ,should be.a good little runabout .
Cheaper than a ninja or z400 i was about to buy ,hopefully not the thief magnet that the Sh300 was

Nice bike... here in the states we had models called "hawks" or cb400t around 1980.
In 1982 for the one year we had the cb450t based on the earlier bikes. They were
awesome "standard" bikes, I had 3 of them over the years and put 15-30K miles on
each. The ignition module was a bit of trouble but can be replaced by aftermarket
units for far less money. Hope you enjoy yours!

Interesting, up until today the only 450 I'd known about was the "Black Bomber" of my youth.

Coincidentally a 1992 CB450DX has popped up for sale on FB, about 5 miles from me in the last hour for £800. I don't need another project though.

I had a later cb450. It was quoted as having 44 bhp, but I never found them. It was super reliable.
