Trust me your not alone, the number of times I've calculated building materials and towards the end realise I've gone from metric to imperial at some point leaving me short

As mentioned, just get a mixer bottle. It has a capacity line, then extra lines above it for different mix ratios; you just top it up to the relevant one. It's still pretty approximate but it means you can mix it thoroughly before it goes in the tank.

Mixing units, for anything, is never a good idea. For fuel ratios, stick with metric as it's a simpler relationship to work out (in my head) unless you're talking big quantities to make the measurements linear, e.g. 1 pint of 2-stroke mix in 8 pints (a gallon) of fuel.

The easy way ...... https://www.toolstation.com/al-ko-2-str ... lsrc=aw.ds
That's the one my Dad uses for his chainsaws.

Why he needs four different petrol chainsaws, all with a different petroil mixture (15:1, 20:1, 25:1 and 40:1) at the age of 87 is something I can maybe relate to, but my Stepmother can't get her head around.

That mix bottle is even cheaper than the one I found! Just make sure before you buy or order that it has the marked out ratios that you need!
By far the best way to go. Too many engines were ruined or had their life's shortened, years ago, by really vague measuring or even guessing. I remember when I got my first bikes with 'autolube' circuits, just fill the reservoir and off you go.....what a godsend.

In the days of yore forecourts had a gallon pump can with an adjustable ration plunger, set the ratio you want & added one 'shot' per gallon of fuel, another idea that never caught on was the measuring cup in the tank cap as used by MZ

And DON'T be tempted to add a little extra!

'Twill do no good, and can destroy your engine! aliengravy's grandfather did so with an expensive outboard engine. The excess oil gummed the rings into their grooves, and led to a very expensive repair! So be warned!
