Honda anc mode125

I was thinking about a new Honda sh mode ,no dealers have any new bikes in at present and won’t have until Dec/Jan ….£2849 for a new one..but the assistant told me they got one in second hand £3100 ..
Do you really think I’ll pay more for a second hand one than a new one ?
Well she replied’ people are paying for used bikes as there are no new ones coming in !!
I’ll keep mine I said as the whole situation is total madness. These were Honda main dealers as well….

It’s the same for pretty much most of the Honda 125 scooters. Honda can’t make them quick enough for the demand with waiting times over 3 months.
A lot of them will be used for deliveries and 3 months is a long time for no earnings so people are paying above new for year old bikes.

Looks like I’ll be selling my spare Honda Vision 110 when it’s repaired and MOT’d. I’m thinking it’s time to give Seven Seas a call and see what they have in Super Cubs. I fancy a small C50 Custom with a four speed box or similar just for fun around the lanes. Still debating on whether I should sell the CBF1000 too and get maybe a Versys 300 or similar smaller bike. I’m thinking (hoping) 2022 will see some changes in what’s parked in my garage.

I’d be curious if you got the Versys 300.....been on my radar for a while, just unsure if I’d get on with the high rev nature of the engine. I did sit on a 650 and a 300, both seemed to fit me well, but one of them can’t remember which had a seat that was brick hard....although the airhawk would sort this.

I think it’s the 300 that has the breeze block for a seat but I quite like hard seats in any case.
The high revving engine is my only concern, plus I’m sure I have either seen a video or read somewhere that if you lose too many teeth on the back sprocket or add too much to the front, it throws a fault code as the gear indicator gets confused.
What I’m really after is a bike that I can sit comfortably at 50mph all day with the upright riding position and potential for luggage. I love the spoked wheels too. Whilst I have a compressor for tubeless, inner tubes in my experience are great when you’re on the road travelling. That 300cc motor must be under stressed with the low gearing and I’m guessing it’s designed to have its t@ts revved off all day. The ninja 250 engines go over 100,000 miles I have read with maintenance. Not that I doubt I’ll be doing that.
The Suzuki VStrom 250 is another target bike along with the Enfield Himalayan but I’m still not sure about that one.
I can touch the highlands in under an hour from home so a big bike is no longer necessary to get there. Besides, back roads are so much better.

By the way, ShMode is a scooter I’ve looked at lots before settling on the Vision but a seriously good option and I am surprised they haven’t sold more of them.

I've had a v-strom and a Himalayan, both good bikes but I much prefer the v-strom 250, lovely smooth engine for a twin.
