Early Honda part numbers

Post by Cerberus73 » Fri Aug 27, 2021 9:26 pm

Ok a fella local to me has a decent stash of early Honda OEM parts. The numbers look weird compared to later 70s on ones. Most start with a F, the one I seem to have decoded was piston rings for a C92 benly. And I'd guess most were for this model. I can get them at a decent price. But is it worth a punt? (So I can get C70 and 90 parts) as I was initially hoping the parts were for my cubs or my P50/PF50/PC50... Anyone here got a C92 and have cub etc parts to trade? Or should I just not bother.

Ok i have my hands on the parts, but my god what a hassle trying to decipher what the hell they are for, They are definately motorcycle or small engine spares. But the part numbers are decidedly odd. even the labels are different from any honda part ive had before, but they only go back as far as the 1970's. these things are older, probably mid 60's at latest. The labels are all in green ink, except for the piston ring boxes. Thankfully i got them for near sod all. So if it proves to much of a ball ache to sort it out, ill be able to use the bearings and grease nipples at least

The Part numbers i was able to get off the packaging:

If anyone knows what the hell these numbers are for id be grateful! Even if it turns out to be for some generator honda made sometime in the days of yore.

Just punching them into Google and following the clues is probably your best bet. I bought a couple of tea chest size boxes of uncollected stuff from a dealer local to me, and I took half a dozen boxes of CT spares from David SIlvers.

I've done OK from it but only scratched the surface. It's a real ball ache listing stuff on ebay, and that's gone downhill big time now.

CMSNL will buy up stock As will Silvers. No idea what they'll give you for it. Or, take up Kayz1's offer and keep it in the family!
