Just seen a UK ad for this on Gumtree. Looks like the same power unit as the new Grom.

No, the 2022 Monkey uses the 4 speed short stroke engine as in the current Super Cub. According to the specs on Honda uk.

No. It quite clearly states 5 speed, and has the same cartridge filter aperture as the 5 speed Grom.

Tell him to go for it. I bought a Grom, and my mate bought a Monkey. We've never had so much fun in at least 30+ years.

Agreed. I had a grom from 2014 and got a 2018 monkey this year. Great fun bikes.
