Well the new tyre didn’t sort out the wobbly-wobbly back end on the 400.

So the back end is in bits again, new swing arm bushes on order, one rear shock appears to be devoid of oil and I’ve found yet another standard threaded bolt rammed into a fine thread fixing.

I swear some people should not be allowed anywhere near spanner’s.

I'm sure certification is on the cards Dave
Not allowed to fix the wiring in my house unless i have certificates and pay an outside body for cover Napit etc (ongoing 1000 ish a year membership after getting the paperwork)
Not allowed to sort out a gas leak or move an appliance without the certificate and being Gasafe approved membership about the same i'm guessing.

Cheap socket and spanner set set lets you piss about with the brakes and suspension and everything else.
Get it wrong and you could kill yourself or worse you plough into a bunch of School kids or Shoppers and don't kill youself !.

Swing arm bushes for the 400 seemed cheap at £6, then you find out you need 4 of them and have to add VAT and delivery.

Hagons relieved me of substantial wedge for a new pair of shocks only to find the tops are 5mm too wide and they have been making them that way since the dawn of time. Still they have promised a new set of tops when their manufacturing starts making replicas of the original Honda type of fitting.

Last thing to do on the 400 will be a fork oil change, and guess what fork legs don’t come with drain screws....yup you guessed it.

Then I can get back to work on the 750.

Onwards and upwards.

Well I finally may have located a Guzzi Convert (Automatic), only problem is.....it’s in a pile of boxes.

If I do buy it then I’ll put the Hondamatic 750 up for sale with the spare motor to finance the rebuild; Guzzi spares being priced for the aristocracy.

Guzzi converts are a tad weird, similar 2 speed and torque converter setup but the gearbox doesn’t have a neutral so the clutch is still fitted on the flywheel, although most are seized through lack of use.
