only thing I can think of Dave, is drop some flux in there, drop of solder, screw the jet in, apply heat to the jet only. Solder won't take to the aluminium I believe, there's a slim - very slim granted - chance the tip may stick to the jet. Maybe tin the jet first.

Could put a couple of drips of hydrochloric acid in first followed by a quick rinse after a few seconds, might loosen things up.

Now that’s an idea and a half.....

I’ve been out on the 750 basically burning up Shell’s finest 98 octane and a bottle of ‘liquid tuneup’, surprisingly frugal on fuel as I managed 135 miles and still had a quarter tank left according to the gauge.

I couldn’t resist one of those mad max pull away with the rear wheel spinning, just stomp on the rear brake and wind up the throttle, then when the lights change just let go of the pedal and try to keep it straight. Dunno who was more scared, the guy in the Quatroporte in the next lane or me.

When she comes on song it gets quite a shove on.

The 400’s been on the bench today for new piston and seals in the front brake calliper, it was going great ‘till I got too blase’ and didn’t top up the master cylinder in time and there was the dreaded ‘slurp’ noise as it sucked in fresh air... dagnabbit!

Onwards and upwards.

Sadly both of those chemicals will react (a lot faster) on the alloy body of the carb.

Can you use a dremmel attachment to grind in some local heat and extract the tapper with a magnet.

It's brass so might not work.

The biggest problem with multi-cylinder bikes is the number of bloody valves that need grinding in.

If it had 4 valve heads I think I’d loose the plot.

And, why is everything so damn heavy nowadays.

And another thing, why when you fill up with posh expensive petrol do the carbs suddenly decide the float valves aren’t up to the job if you leave the tap on overnight?

And, how can 2 floats set at exactly the same height result in vastly different fuel levels.

Gonna get drunk now.

Well sh*t - looks like a cracked valve to me....

I knew I should have left them covered in carbon, I would have been none the wiser then.
