Thanks for the reply. The smoke was coming from the crankcase cover ( where the torch is pointing in the video) so not really the exhaust.
Did you ask the seller about the smoke, let it run for another 10 minutes, service history (proof thereof)?

Something touching the exhaust or oil on it .

Last owner might have sprayed the engine with WD40 to prevent corrosion, I do this to mine often as it's left outside.
If this is the case then it will smell and smoke from the outside of the engine until it's all evaporated.
Ok so maybe something like that. it wasn't particularly oily smelling though, a bit of an odd smell! Could it be damp and oil?

We turned it off for a bit and then started again. There was still smoke after a few minutes. Didn't ask about the service history unfortunately.

Mazoo

Is the seller the owner?

As in actually owned/ridden the machine or a 'swiss tony' flipping a shed?

It is a sort of Swiss tony affair. It's an auction house so sold as seen. It's passed the last 3 MOTs and the current one runs until November this year.

This one then...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373393010734

Try offering less or just take a punt.

For £800 its not the biggest waste of money in the world if knackered but then I've spent lots more on a lot worse on e- blag through the bottom of a pint glass

If they selling for that imagine how little they paid

If in doubt go without as £800 notes saved and others will come along

You're right, it isn't that much, I just need a rough idea of worst case scenario with that smoke before I, make my mind up.

Just to let people know I don't need anymore help on this but thanks to everyone that gave advice. Someone went and bought it this morning. So thanks to whoever that was I suppose it's a lesson learned by me, I probably shouldn't have said where it was.

My apologises as you didn't but I did

Hopefully it wasn't somebody on here who did your legs but with e-blag there is some competition but often reappear as clowns fail to pay (don't ask how I know)
