Well as part of my clearing out clutter from the garage (isnt it funny how you get rid of one project, another migrates right in to replace it) I put of for sale/trade my Stripped down Yamaha QT50 shaft drive moped, i had a load of nos and good used bits. a fella contacted me "would you be interested in a swap for a Honda P50?".... let me think about that. so as soon as i made sure it was generally all there, and it had a lot of new and good used bits coming with it. i arranged a meeting, bargain was struck, straight swap. and i was now the owner of a rather decent unmolested condition patina'ed P50, it came with an almost complete set of spare plastic parts, so mudguards, chainguard etc, a spare front carrier, seat, new mag, cylinder head, clutch and a bush kit for the front forks.. as they are shagged! it feels like a clown bike on the front... looks like one too.
Here she is in all her rusty glory.. The one major missing piece is of course the bloody plastic carb cover. This i would like to track down. not a pristine white one of course as id like to keep the patina on her. a 53yo bike should show her age. not blind you from 200yrds with the gloss off her paintwork. My plan is to go through her mechanically. make sure she runs like a Swiss watch, stops, goes and rides like she should. and get her on the road.
If anybody can help find that last missing piece, or has engine, electrical or brake bits to help keep her on the road. drop me a message.
