Depends - have you popped the belt cover off to have a look?

Sometimes the bendix fails instead - some of them have starter clutches, some of them have bendixes, but the bendixes sound horrible when they go wrong

Just adding to this topic as its 3 years old & time for its first MOT.

So after 3 years - not so bad - still a dearth of local dealers - but mighty nippy & well put together, but its a Yamaha Cygnus really - so that goes without saying..

The seat bedded in nicely & stopped caning my ar$e after a short painful while.. I'd forgotten all about that new bike treat.

I had to replace the speedo cable rather early, no obvious Chinesium metal issues but on replacing the speedo
hub ( from generic Chinese Motor Cycle store ) recently found a shocking lack of grease had caused failure, the new one has a good
smattering.

I wonder what other treats are in store, that starter clutch can still make a noise at times & the main stand is getting stiff ?

However, at 3 years my £1800 new looks like a fair purchase & I'm guessing a secondhand one goes for a good deal less - this model has been
discontinue & replaced with a much pricier version.

Caveat Emptor etc & Roll on Southern Softies !

regards

Kevin

You bought at the right time.

Euro 5 killed off a significant part of Sinnis's range, this scooter being the most disappointing loss.

Final post on this OT topic.

Passed its first MOT but the Headlamp spread was so bad that, even after adjustment I had to mask off part of the lens with tape.

Examiner said this was typical of Chinese scooters - any other solutions out there ?

You get headlight aim / beam pattern and spread problems with the pre focus c90 bulbs (PX 15d. 25/25) with the filaments at the wrong height on the legs.... and the wrong way round!.... cheap bulbs. I don't know what bulbs are in the Sinnis 125? You could try another bulb? Or is it the reflector? It's not LED is it?
Andy.
