There is a lot of suspension movement so getting on with the cases in place means you should start you Bruce Lee upkick practice ASAP.
I can confirm the above. Once on it seemed a very good riding position and could flat foot but having to have help getting off was embarrassing.
TBH it was a few months ago and I'm having no problems getting on or off the BMW now.

So Diesel Dave, have you sold the Himalayan now?
What things about it made you decide to sell it after a year?
I was close to buying one 18mths ago, ended up buying something else, but i still like them a lot.
