Curiously, Onthewheel near me have a few of these bikes in stock and available on the road for around £2.5k.

They are effectively brand new but obviously imported and pre-registered.

They are, I believe, a bike built by Honda in India, for their domestic market there, although I could be wrong, and will stand corrected if anyone (AE86?) knows differently.

Carburettor fuelling, and possibly a non-FI version of the CBF125 motor (again I could be wrong) and with a fully enclosed chain.

They had 3 in Colwin motorcycles and was that close to buying one, as you say Ged made in India, brand new, not registered. a wholesaler in London is supplying them. Fully enclosed chain guard, prop stand, carb (no ECU) all good stuff. engine sounds very sweet, Kick-starter and deep front mudguard.

Ive seen these on the net too, Im sure I was looking at one in Goa in Feb, there is lots of variations of honda/Hero honda over there. A nice bike but you can buy a new cb125f with 2 year warranty for a similar price.

Yes, I did see one, its a home market Honda Shine, about 700 quid new over there.

Yeah, I think the appeal of these ones is the old school carb and full chaincase. Plus the fact that it's not a bike you'll see every day, whereas the CB125F is.

Weighed up against the 2 year Honda warranty (as opposed to the 1 year AA warranty) and the lack of hassle getting it insured, a bit more chain maintenance and £400 more on the purchase price would swing most buyers towards the CB125F.

However, the other trump card that Onthewheel can play is that potential buyers of the CB125F will discover that their nearest official Honda dealer is P&H in Crawley ... which is enough to send anyone running to anywhere else begging them to take their money!

Good point.

Who'd want a carb on a daily commuter? Because it's easier to fix when it clogs up or even breaks?

Honda PGM-FI is stone ax reliable, and you don't even need a battery for it to start.

I'm sure the injection system is very reliable, but a submersible fuel pump, pressurised pipework, ECU and the many sensors and addition wiring negate any reliability gain in my humble opinion. You stand a much better chance of fixing a carb bike than the latest breed of high tech machinery.
Some bikers prefer simple DIY bikes.

Looks good to me. Apart from the aardvark like rear end. Simple hacksaw job though.
