I have never got on with grips myself. A extra layer on the body plus bar muff is a much better solution. This subject came up not to long ago. I suffer from bad circulation in my fingers and toes and after lots of research i can control the white finger by keeping my core warm. Heated grips only kept my palms warm up to 40 mph. They did nothing for keeping my fingers warm or stopping the white fingers.

Andy.
Same with me. I've had some very (VERY) uncomfortable Winter rides with painfully cold hands despite heated grips and muffs too.

I followed the same advice and bought a Keis heated waistcoat and it has been a revelation. I've heard other folks rave about decent grips but following the advice to maintain warmth in the body core is the only thing that has worked effectively for me. I repeat the ONLY thing that has worked effectively.

Just got in the post today a tucano urbano thing that attatches to the bike ( for the sh).
Can you let me know how you get on please. It's an option I'm looking at if I get an SH.
Will do, just put the givi sliding screen back on tonight....hopefully will put tucano on in the next week.

On my work bike i fitted a taller screen and fitted a power sock for my Keis waste coat. Last winter i only used my thick winter mitts on a couple of occasions, on my 17 mile commute.

Think I'll get one of those waist coats. So even though it's the warmest part of my body when biking....(I'm never cold in that area) using a heated waistcoat will help the rest of my body.....hands feet etc? Sounds like a good idea.

You won't regret it. FWIW I have the heat controller but never use it. I wear the waistcoat next to a base layer and plug it straight in.
