What lock would you use to for the Honda sh125/300 scooter to deter thieves ?
On my old CG many years ago I just used to use some old wire pit rope with one of those silver round locks on it. Given the amount of scooters my mates son has had pinched recently I want to make sure I deter any opportunist. I've seen ulocks, disc locks and link locks.
Scooters kept in a garage, it's mainly for if I leave it anywhere when I'm out and about. I suppose locking it to something is the best bet, but any advice on products etc appreciated .
Cheers all

Out and about u lock or disk lock in London both !

Scooters are I think now the most stolen type of two wheeler !

Are you looking to get an SH300 Wuyang? I've been looking.
I have a disk lock plus a couple of these. A determined thief will have bolt-croppers, angle grinders, so I'm not sure a more expensive lock and chain would gain much.

They're using disc cutters here to steal the bikes/scooters within minutes.
A couple of weekends ago three 'lovely lowlifes' on two scooters pulled up outside my local and proceeded to cut the locks off one of the many pushbikes locked up in the racks outside. This was despite two bouncers and various customers standing there watching them. They have no fear, no-one would challenge them and they knew it.

I use the oxford ultra strong magnum U Lock has a anti theft gaurantee of £1000 and oxford say it's Attack Tested, Saw Resistant, Drill Resistant, Bolt Cropper Resistant 5 minute attack tested and after 5 minutes normally a theif would give up they dont say it's angle grinder resistint but the ones theifs userley use are battery powerd angle grinders which are n ot as powerfull as the ones that run of mains and with the 1 thousand gaurantee the lock must be good for oxford to put that on I have one on my sym symba as toy cant use a disc lock on that has drum brakes I put ht through rear wheels and rear forks so you cant push bike awayand wheel wont go round and the lock is off ground so no leaverage with bolt croppers so pick a U lock with a gaurantee and use a disk lock also if you have discs also use a brake leaver lock like I do wich locks the brake leaver on
You can also get alarmed disc locks which make a hell of a noise when someone has a go at it will attract attention.

I see these in use a lot in construction.
Trust me, they are powerful enough, even the 18V ones, let alone the 54v ones.

A nice grotty cover is, in my opinion, the best anti-theft device.
A bike under a cover catches nobody's eye. Expecially if it's a manky cover.
