Just acquired a Wave 110i Wave and would appreciate a copy of your digital manual. Unfortunately I’ve been unlucky in that as it only had 7500 miles on the clock and only 4 years old I didn’t do a great deal of engine checking when I bought it. I went out on it to warm the oil and after a very short run it was smoking very badly and pumping white fumes out of the engine breather. Looks like at the very least a top end rebuild hence needing some technical settings etc. As manuals appear to be thin on the ground I’m wondering if the engine is the same in another Honda model which I could get some technical on.
Sadly, our friend, SteveW passed away in 2017.

Someone else may have access to the information, though.
This information is available BUT at a price. If you Google Honda MARIS you can obtain access to most models of car, scooter, ATV and bike etc but you have to pay. I recently paid around €17 for two hours of access but it allowed me to log in for most of the day and I downloaded what I wanted from the models I was interested in. You will need to set up an account (I used my YouTube name Scootyman) and Honda send you a passcode which lasts a short period of time. You will also need a VIN number of the model you are interested in.

One small bit of advice though if you decide to use this service. If you have a modern laptop running latest internet explorer, you may have to emulate an older version and it took me a little while to get it working BUT when it works it’s really good. Everything in picture form with images that can be zoomed to a separate page and printed off for use later along with step by step process in just about anything Honda.
Hope that helps

I don’t suppose it smells like a two stroke when you run it does it? I put a bit of fuel through mine from my chainsaw and had a similar effect. Quick drain of the tank and a few litres of V Power later and all was fine. You would know if this was burning oil as you would see the level drop quite quickly given it only holds a litre of oil at most.

This is a manual for the crf110 which has the same engine. There is diagrams and instructions for the engine maintenance and valve CLEARANCE adjustment

Heres a Honda wave manual as well, which doesn't have the valve CLEARANCE information

That's going back a bit! I did try some in a V6 Cortina a very long time ago but can't remember what the result was.

Didn't realise they had started up using the name again.

I've always preferred STP as the stickers improve any vehicle. :D

Slick 50 is a friction reducer, or was ....so not good for a wet clutch.
