Have you changed the oil for some decent fully synthetic yet?

I think every 4 stroke I can remember owning was noisier at start up.

It might be that "it is what it is" for a Wave with 20k on the clock.

If it ain't broke .... :D

The oil in there looks clean and there is plenty of it too. Oil change is planned for next Monday but I may do it earlier if I get the chance.
The reason I feel reasonably confident about the oil is that I found a oil change schedule under the seat. Never the less it will be getting a decent fully synthetic transfusion ;)

Also having checked all the exploded diagrams I can find I'm pretty sure it's got a C90 style CCT.

The 110 is the Cub style tensioner (I'm looking at one sitting in front of my workplace), and I believe it's directly swappable with C90s. Don't quote me directly on that though, I only know for sure from 95' to 05' ish motors they are the interchangeable.

TBH it will be difficult to find any new bike not made in China or Thailand these days.

I wouldn't worry, you only keep bikes for around 8 months anyway... :D

I would be surprised if it wasn't! 8-)

Besides, it's a Honda. It could be made anywhere and it would still be a Honda.

Rummaged underneath today and it IS definitely a C90 type CCT.

Good move! 8-)

I have a feeling that I checked out where it was made when I first saw one displayed at the NEC show.
