'The Rules' are a very blunt instrument. Everybody, is welcome!

What's NOT welcome is constantly linking to, and promoting, someone else's crappo import emporium!

If you want a Riders Cub forum, f*** off and start one! But advertise it here, at your peril!

When I started this topic I now believe that I should of started it in the ''Other Honda / Marque'' section.
I must point out that I would NEVER encourage any person, member or not to purchase a Riders Cub. Compared to the real deal they are like something that you pick up from the local 99p shop.
However they are a good source of cheap replacement parts for a Honda Cub. Compared to some aftermarket parts judging by what some members have stated the quality is actually better than some parts that are actually sold to fit a Honda Cub.
For what I have spent out on my project so far I could of purchased a brand new boxed Riders Cub and had enough change to get it on the road for a year. I Decided that I want a proper Honda Cub and not a 99p piece of crap (Sorry Riders owners) that falls out of a Christmas cracker.
I myself will be using a single seat and chain guards for my project Cub. These will be Riders parts because
1/ The Chainguards actually fit properly unlike aftermarket items
2/ They are a lot cheaper than genuine items
3/ You cannot buy a new single seat to fit a 12v Honda Cub for love or money

Now maybe Admin will be kind enough to move this topic to the ''Other Honda / Marque'' section

I really do think someone needs to 'take a step back' and think this through.

We're being told that no-one can promote (post) recommendations for Riders Cub we are also being told recently that a certain Scooter site will not be tolerated on here.

Yet at the same time it's apparently OK to promote some other aftermarket companies that sell less than quality products.

IMHO this is confusing, smacks of a bit of 'dick-waggling' and is not conducive to long-term site harmony.

Just my thoughts.....................

Whoa Bugsy, wind it in pal!

Get your facts straight before you kick off!

Exactly WHAT scooter site isn't tolerated here? And exactly WHAT aftermarket companies that sell less than quality products ARE being promoted here?
We're not into promoting ANY companies other than the few partners offering members discounts.

The only one 'wagging their dick' is you, it's about the third time you've kicked up here, and if you think I spend my time keeping something like this going , to accommodate ingrates, or to promote f*****g 'Riders Of Yeovil ' you are very, very, wrong! :x :x :x :x

What's flashed me, is a kid get's a bit of cub love seeing Ed March's videos, comes on here looking for a CUB, and some clever dick starts selling him a riders cub! That's ok, is it?

So go waggle your dick, and for the sakes of harmony, keep such thoughts to yourself, eh?

Further, we aren't here to promote other peoples websites, scooter sites, porn sites, or anything else for that matter.

If this policy doesn't sit well with you, go find another forum to beat up on or make snide remarks about!

Might be more at home on the GS forum......

Well, thats me told then.

Clearly touched a nerve when all I was trying to say is that the many current members on here who own Riders Cubs should not be made to feel like owners of 'second-class' bikes. Just as owners who have opted for 'Lifan' motors and other non-genuine parts, it's called freedom of choice.

I have had contact with 'Riders Yeovil' in the past about parts and can only say that they are helpful in the extreme, something that cannot be said of some other dealers.

Whatever, just ripples in lifes pond and life is too short, I think I'll just go and polish my Honda C90E - genuine, of course.. ;)

BTW Newt, your recent 'other' comments I was referring to was a company called Scooters'n'bikes.

Well that's wrong too. We have never been snobby about bikes, there's no such thing as a second class motorcyclist here, and there's never been any issue with Chinese parts, or indeed riders parts.

I think maybe you need to read more, and more carefully. Do you actually understand why I'm pissed off?

Someone comes on, fired up about a Cub and looking to own one. First post is someone extolling the virtues and price of a Riders Cub.

Imagine you're a salesman in Dixons, discussing the sale of a laptop with a customer. Some oik wanders over, and say's to your customer 'Ere mate, you can get a Chinese copy of that, in Poundland. Not as good maybe, but will do the job'

Wouldn't you be pissed off?

Maybe not. But I am. I've spent the last 5 years promoting and building up C90Club, and it ain't about to be taken over by RIders, that I can promise you.

And there are other options than carping and causing disharmony. Try a PM in the first instance, maybe?

I don't recall this, but I've had very bad service from PetrolScooter.

ATEOTD, Do you see any advertising here? Are we set up to make money from this? Maybe open your eyes to the fact, we aren't affiliated to any company and this is a purely philanthropic exercise. As such, WE are free to determine our direction.

We/I give our time freely and have done so for 5 years to make this the place it is. Rather than jumping in with a 2 minute application and telling us how to run the website maybe stick to the subject of the forum.

Rather than get involved in the politics and just being critical?
