This topic will be celebrating its 10th birthday next year! :o
Entertaining to read through too and still useful.

Newts prophecy of Nov 2013 came true.

"In another 5 years time the MD of 'RC Yeovil' will likely be enjoying the fruits of his Chinese imports in some sunny far flung land, company wound up, and people trying to find genuine Honda parts to keep their crappy copies alive!"

Still like them though, even more when they are running. Wouldn't get rid of my C90 though. :D

So when I was out on Saturday I hit a pothole, didn't even notice it, road looked fine.

There was an almighty clatter and the sound of something seriously rubbing at the front end. :o

When I looked over the bars I could see the front of the mudguard off to the left side at roughly 45 degrees.

Took the front wheel off today and this is what was discovered.

Looks like either superglue or gorilla glue should sort it out easily enough.

I was offered s riders Cub about 6 years ago.
I remember looking at it (the same colour as yours) on inspection I found the plastic panels were made of a quite hard plastic..... that would be 'brittle' in comparison to the Homda ones that have a bit more flex / 'bendyness' ...... is that a word???
Hope you can fix it to a satisfactory standard.
Good luck. Cheers Andy.

Bummer! Gold as well so not easy to match.

If it was me I'd use Araldite to join it up and then reinforce the inside with glassfibre matt.

Yep plastics are brittle, still need to bodge up the number plate bracket again on the Riders.

They are indeed not bendy. The legshields are a funny *waisted" shape too and are quite rigid. As they are no longer available I fitted a set of cheap aftermarket C90 ones which offer slightly better protection. Had to cut an extra hole to accommodate the much longer starter though.

Fixed (as far as I can tell) the mudguard.

Seems OK so far but time will tell on how effective it is.

Is there any way to increase the preload on the front springs? I find them a bit on the soft side... :?

Pal of mine has some fibreglass that I'll try, if this doesn't hold it together.

I buy the small kits from Toolstation and the lightweight Fastglass tissue from Halfords if needed. Use it for reinforcing top boxes and covering redundant holes.

2 years driving a Berkeley T60 as a teenager so some experience in bodging up stuff.
