That's brilliant - thanks for sharing the pics.

Much better idea than drilling the grab rail so ordering another now to do the same. I'll probably take my grab rail down to Halfords to get a can of the nearest match to the red. I have the same XL topbox in white as well, purchased for this bike for about the same. :D

I'll have to consider selling one of my Rickman racks now!

I think for the price, it's a great option.

I really don't understand why racks are so expensive these days?

I still need to touch up the lugs on mine after the reshaping.

Who knows, I may finish off the installation of the £9 screen at the same time.

Might even put up another shelf for the rest of the topbox collection.

Mine is a cheat, substituted some 3mm perspex and cut to fit better on the Riders. I need to trim a small amount off to get the edging to fit. Still owes me less than £19. :D
Still got the waffer thin one if anyone wants it.

I quite fancy fitting something like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CUB-C70- ... 100623.m-1

But there's no way I'm parting with $26 for a bit of plastic tat.

If it was a tenner, I might bite.

As far as I'm aware, there's not really much of a dedicated rack for these bikes, unless you want to go for a single seat option but chances of finding one of those might be fairly slim right now.

A trawl of AliExpress might bring something up but I suspect it might be a lot cheaper (and easier) to get one of these cheapo eBay racks modified to suit your needs?

The bodged one I did with treadplate was for a 12V C90 (I take it that's the one you're referring to - this thread has been running over 7 years!) It wouldn't fit a Riders but you seem to have a C90.

That rack is possibly an old Rickman version (there were better) but the short answer is eBay or other online outlets for used gear. Think it came off a 1984 bike that got scrapped but that was a few years ago. If you're on FB then this groups Buy and Sell page sometimes has ads of gear, usually that which has been taken off in building Custom Cubs.

This is the original thread on the conversion, it's a bit long and meandering (like me) in case you're interested

A better rack for panniers IMHO is the Rickman with pannier loops. This works well with throw overs but the same principals could be applied to mount hard luggage, lots of people have - including Terry and Chris's GHiPs bikes. :D

The problem I find with both of the Rickman versions is the amount of time it takes to add and remove them as you have to relocate the indicators. I could go on and on (and usually do). Whatever you find will probably have some rust issues.

Rickman with pannier rails.

Was there ever a resolution as to what brake shoes fit the front brake?
