It's all bog standard, other than an NGK spark plug.

Oh and I replaced the battery last year with one from CPS. (£11.99)

Will probably need to do an oil change in the spring as well.

Could actually do with a slightly more comfortable saddle.

Was wondering if something cheap and cheerful from say a CG125 could be used on the existing seat base? Or just modified to suit. You can get complete units for £32 on eBay etc.

Rear light blowing constantly ? A fellow (red) Riders rider gave up on his bike due to this....

I recently had headlamp issues & my local C90 guy said he'd found a poor connection in the headset harness ( somewhere in that ratsnest ) - job done.

Now then.. since thats fixed, the rear light hasnt blown once..

Just saying..

regards

The rear mudguard vibrated like an absolute bastard on mine. This resulted in a rear bulb lasting about 5 miles at a time.

To cure this i fitted genuine H engine mounts, which don't stretch like the originals, and replaced the rear light with an LED unit.

No worries after that.

I've never had any issues with mine so far.

I need to resolve my old GSX-R 750G rear number plate light as it's vibrating and blowing bulbs.

One thing about the Chinese light units, they don't seem to use gaskets at all .. :|

Well I had my worst day out today

Went on a roughly 75 mile run and all was well until about 2/3 of the way when the bike just cut out, in the middle of nowhere.... :?

Did the usual checks but couldn't see anything obviously wrong.
Then tried starting the bike and away it went...TFFT!!!

10 seconds later, bike cuts out once more.... :o

Up on the centre stand, check the plug cap - and notice that the side stand switch cable is somehow hanging down, tuck it up over the gear changer and away I go... so my next job will be to completely remove the side stand switch - anybody else done this before?

About 10 or 15 miles later I notice that my speedo needle is oscillating side to side and won't indicate above 40 but I know by the sound of the engine and general speed that I'm doing at least 50... Eventually the needle goes back to zero but the odometer is slowly counting... 5 miles or so later it's not moving either. Assumed broken cable to speedo etc.

Get off the bike and see that the rear left indicator is missing....ar$e!!!

Take the bike to the shed and discover that the indicator lens and reflector is lying on the grass so must have fallen off before I even got on the bike! Refit indicator and reflector...

Discover that the rear light has blown, change the bulb.

Have a look at the speedo cable - different type than I'm familiar with but insert small screwdriver bit into end and use power drill to turn - speedo working fine and presumably there's a problem in the front hub...? Anybody got any experience of the hub drives for the speedo?

Other than that, it was a nice ride out but turned absolutely Baltic on the last half of the ride.

Speedo. I bought a new worm gear off ebay when the last one turned to cheese. Easy to fit. Front Indicators popped out, with minimum sideswiping & broke the retaining tabs years ago.. Never played with side stand cut off.... have to resolder the tank gauge connector every 6 months too.. Replace the rear axle with a Honda one at the earliest opportunity too.. Soldier, I was that rider.....
