Melody
Saved a Honda Melody from going to the scrapyard. Was going to be crushed if not picked up by the end of the week for free. Has had lots of race history in paddock scooters. been round all the UK tracks, Hockenhiem in Germany, Monza in Italy, Albecete in Spain.
Got it home after a 80 mile round trip. And tried to take the spark plug cap off so i could remove the spark plug but the spark plug disintegrated into a million pieces. Fitted a new/old spare spark plug checked for spark and OMG it sparked. Filled the tank with petrol. Kickstarted it and it fired up on the 3rd kick. Idle was high, exhaust smoke was a lot, rear wheel was spinning. After a minute of running the idle calmed down, the clutch dis-engaged the rear wheel and the smoke was a lot less. Switched it off and let it cool for 5 minutes. Kickstarted and it started on the 1st kick
Last taxed in 1995, reg number on tax disc, so v5 can be applied for as it has the original engine/frame numbers.
Tyres are in good road worthy condition, brakes work, lights dont work, no leakages anywere so not too much work needed for an m.o.t.
Came with motorcross tyres for green laning
Has a top speed of 33mph as a slight modification was done to the exhaust. Anyone know about these? Worthy of some TLC?

Re: Melody
my mum had one couple of years back it was shocking slow, i bottomed the suspension out, it leaked petrol, some how the jet snapped in half in side the float bowl and had the mpg of a chieftan tank
but it was so small and a huge laugh how easy it started

Yeah its really small. I'm 5ft 10" and the handlebars are just below my waist. Definatley the easiest bike i'e ever kickstarted. Its a Y reg. Any idea what year that might be.
