Re: Melody
I was Hoping it was before 1986 as I dont want to fit indicators on it. Want to make it look clean. Not a single wire showing. After passing my CBT today, i dont see why not keep this as a quick runabout always ready to go. So yes, going to show it some love.
Checking the frame tomorrow but the previous owner said he strengthened the frame before taking it racing. Will need it to do a little more than 33mph though as thats just asking to get laughed at. Wonder if i can bore it up to 80cc with a bigger engine head or something. Never worked on this style engine before but familiar with 2 strokes from my rc petrol car hobby.
An idea I got is white wall tyres, black wheels, black engine, black exhaust and not sure on main panel colours.
Wow this things is tiny. Kinda helps my desire for a monkey bike.

Re: Melody
the melody wasnt that tuneable, to be honest cost to much to get a extra few mph, the engine unlike a lot of small strokers dont have "restriction bolted on" like in the carb or washer in the exhaust... but its designed into the motor from the get-go... 31-33mph was there lot pretty much, and if you wanted more you have to change vast chunks of the engine to get 40mph if your lucky. you might be able to use a 70cc top end big bore kit made for other small honda strokers like the camino or px50 etc, but i really dont know what is interchangeable between those engines... some research on your part will be required, problem is then you get 40mph or so for a few weeks till it goes pop, as the bottom end was never designed for it. the breakers yard here has a couple in at moment they use to nip between there 2 workshops at either end/side of a long street... one is proper pink pink! and others yellow... they are so tiny compared to what i remembered of them, mind you i was younger and smaller then!

Re: Melody
Would like this to be a reliable little bike. So if for a few extra mph i loose reliability i would rather keep it stock. Maybe research on a good 2 stroke exhaust.
It is so tiny a 10 year old looks like the perfect height for it.

Re: Melody
I don't think a Camino type top end will go straight on
They're air cooled from the forward movement of the 'ped
Melodies etc were fan cooled...shrouded cylinder etc
Might be able to bodge something on though
