MZ TS 125
I'm having another midlife crisis and the lure of a TS125 is becoming very strong.I love the gawky looks, but I don't know anything about them,so does anyone on here have any experience of these bikes?

Re: MZ TS 125
Tough, crude, 2 stroke, parts cheap and shits and giggles, getting a kawk kh might be a better option
Point ignition as well
Drum brakes
Plumes of smoke

well built, bombproof motorcycle made from good quality materials, but you need to have some mechanical experience to run one for any length of time

Re: MZ TS 125
MZ's are fab bikes, as stated, tough as old para boots, still plentiful parts if you know where to look, cheap to buy. and got character. i have had a TS125, electricals were crude at best, and like any 6v system depend on good earths and watch for them being brittle now as they are old bikes. also a large aluminium casting makes up part of the frame, and used extensively through the bike, so polish up well, i got the TS in early 90s, but now i really hanker after a ES 250 trophy. and if i can raise the moolah, and while the prices are still sensible i will have one.... but first i need to shift some of my other 2 wheeled junk lol

Re: MZ TS 125
Had one years ago, but not for long....hated it! Engine is basically a mirror image clone of a BSA Bantam, the similarities are frightening Everybody always says that the 250 is a much better bike and far more durable....

I thought the BSA Bantam engine was made by MZ in the first place...

I too have had this strange need to get one of these bikes for some time but have resisted the urge so far. I have only ever owned one Stroker and believe them to be the work of the devil.

Re: MZ TS 125
Exactly the opposite. BSA got the design for free as war reparations and mirrored it to put the gears and kickstart on the right. (the old DKW factory ended up in the Eastern zone and became MZ - just as the DKW car plant became Wartburg)cruncherkid wrote: Engine is basically a mirror image clone of a BSA Bantam, the similarities are frightening .
I've never owned one but looked after a couple over the years. I like 'em despite the two strokery. One of the nicest handling 125s I've ridden . Fit a CG125 engine?
