I agree, it’s an honest close up picture and description 😊

Very nice but .... where are the mirrors, the rear indicator stems are wrong, bolts in the front forks for a rack, should the colour sticker be on the tank ? just a few things that look wrong.
The mileage looks right but no MOT after 2013 next at 2019 with 10 miles traveled.

There's something not right about this bike.
I may be wrong but I think the engine has been repainted.
The chainguard may be repainted........and there's something about the frame colour that's not right for me. The red looks a bit too mulberry.
In other words, I don't think it's an original that's in superb condition.

The description says that all the paintwork on the frame is original, not the chainguard or anything else.

The chainguard may well have been painted or be a recent replacement.

The seller has a 100% positive rating on eBay with over 2000 positive reviews.

If it's "faked," then including some bubbling paint in a known problem area is an unreal level of attention to detail.

You're probably right, cap'n. It's just that, to me, the shade of red looks a bit darker than it should be, but that could be the lighting, of course.

Do we know how many previous owners its had?

I refurbished a Raleigh Chopper about 2 decades ago, left the paint original and standard, and sold it on eBay.

It was purple, but no matter what camera I used to take the photos, they always came out blue.

I ended up making a bold statement on the auction saying that it was purple but that I couldn’t capture the colour.

The number of questions and comments I got was still incredible. “ Are you sure it’s original paint. I don’t remember a blue one.”

It’s 20+ years on but still feasible that the seller has concentrated on the photo detail at the expense of the colour palette.

The mirrors are mentioned in the description…
