Hello

Post by s h a r k » Sat Dec 03, 2011 6:51 pm

Hello, I’ve picked up a 96 Cub and probably paid over the odds, but I’ve been meaning to get one for a while. The weather has been awful today so I’ve been pulling bits off the bike to see what needs to be sorted. It’s had quite a few owners in the past but so far I’ve not come across anything major in the bodging dept so my shopping list is not as bad as I expected so far. :D
The frame seems to be in good nick but I’ll need to investigate under the plastic rear mudguard before that’s confirmed. The cush drive is turning into powder so that needs replacing as does the chain sprockets and tyres. The engine oil looks like it’s not been changed in a while looking at the sump plug and lack of spanner marks on it. Overall it seems to be a decent project and I’m looking forward to getting out and about on it. :)

Looks nice and clean, is the brake touching the exhaust?
And where are you?

The cutaway on the rear shock should be inside not the outside as it is ....

It' seems like a nice bike and it is very clean, I think the brake pedle is a little high on the exhaust because the wheel is off but I'll check it once the wheel and new tyre go back on.

Thats what I thought ;) , I'd rather pay a bit extra for Honda parts that's why I asked in the discussion section about suppliers online.

All looks good so far Pjam, I'm working my way up front just for saftey checks and things that dont look right. I may use it for a long trip :D If what you mention about the fins is right then maybe the milage is what the clock reads....who knows :)
